The Feed: Turning the Corner at Tennessee?

The headlines in college football…

The season just ended up a massive nightmare for Tennessee Volunteer fans. The team finished the season 4–8, 0–8 in SEC play in last place in the Eastern Division and the SEC. They were also the first Tennessee team in program history to lose eight games in a season, as well as the first to not win an SEC game since becoming a charter member of the conference in 1932. Butch Jones was the next big hope when he arrived in 2013, but his record at Tennessee was 34-27  in 5 seasons, topping out with his 9-4 squads in 2015 and 2016 that could manage no better than 5-3 in the SEC. He was fired prior to the game against LSU. Can a new head coach (former Alabama Defensive Coordinator Jeremy Pruitt) and the return of Phillip Fulmer (who was head coach from 1992-2008) spell relief for what ails the faithful on Rocky Top?

College football has a new signing period. Rather than starting in February, recruits will now have a 72-hour window to sign a Letter of Intent (LOI) in December between the end of the regular season and Christmas. This year that early signing period falls between December 20th and 22nd.
